NASA posts huge library of Space Sounds

Peter Kirn (22 Oct, 2014) writes about the huge library of space sounds that NASA has posted on SoundCloud. Music producers and recording artists can create new works with space sounds thanks to the US government space agency. Choose from rocket sounds, famous phrases spoken in outer space, and even international recordings such as the Soviet satellite, Sputnik.

NASA's audio on SoundCloud is free to use and not copyrighted. Read their content guidelines for further details. There is a bigger collection on archive.org and other sites referenced in the article. Kirn also provides a link to TED Talk by Honor Harger, art technologist, "A History of the Universe in Sound." Well worth a listen by the Music Health Australia network.
