With COVID-19 self-isolation restriction, more people are working from home. Pets and pianos are getting more attention. While pets and pianos are not suitable for aerospace travel, I recognise that more music-making is occurring in the home. I can recall 5 generations of piano playing females in our family. What will become of this tradition in the future? Pianos are less commonly available in community centres. Has the virus brought about a renaissance in piano playing? Some researchers are exploring COVID-19 music-making but the piano has not been mentioned to date. A great area for new research.
